CITY OF ASTORIA ANNOUNCES TIM WILLIAMS TO BE PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR

ASTORIA, December 19 - The City of Astoria is pleased to announce that Tim Williams has accepted the position of Astoria Parks and Recreation Director.

Williams was most recently the Director of Parks and Recreation in Roswell, New Mexico. Prior to that he was the Community Services Administrator in Renton, Washington and the Director of Parks and Recreation in South Salt Lake, Utah.

“I am excited to be joining the Astoria community and working with the Astoria Parks and Recreation Department staff,” said Williams. “The leadership here in Astoria is excellent.”

“We are looking forward to having Tim join our team,” said City Manager Brett Estes. “He brings a lot of experience and passion for parks and recreation.”

Williams will start on January 8. He is moving here with his wife Nancy and their children, ages 11, 12 and 17. He also has three children in college. He says they enjoy bike riding and camping and look forward to being so close to the ocean.
